Enjoy a tour of Athens, combining many of the cities principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and see the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that were Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylae, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens. We also visit the Acropolis Museum.

Your evening dinner/tour begins with a pleasant scenic drive through the illuminated boulevards of Athens, as far as Piraeus, Greece's principal commercial port. Continue to Marina Zea, one of the busiest yacht harbors in the Mediterranean and home port to many luxurious pleasure yachts belonging to Greece's ship owning and international jet-set communities. From here, a short drive to Mikrolimano, another picturesque yacht and fishing boat harbour, home to the ex-Royal Yacht Club and many fine waterfront seafood restaurants. We finally return to Athens and the renowned "Plaka" district, located around the base of the Acropolis, for dinner with live floor show at a typical Greek tavern.

Starting from Athens we drive westwards along the scenic coast, until we reach the Corinth Canal with its breathtaking views (short stop). Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth (visit) where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Back in the ancient times Corinth was amo­ngst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge agora (market place) and Apollo's Temple (6th C B.C.), brief stop at the site of the ancient port of Cenchreae where the apostle Paul disembarked. Return to Athens in time for lunch.

We are offered the enjoyment of a cruise in just one day to the Greek islands of Hydra, Poros, Aegina, including lunch on board and round-trip transfers by bus. Sail for the island of Hydra. On this fashionable artists' colony, a retreat of intellectuals and a favorite film location. The colorful harbor is ringed by an amphitheatrical town with well-preserved sea-merchant family mansions. Leisurely we have time for strolling, shopping or swimming. Continue your voyage to Poros where the first naval arsenal of independent Greece was established. Poros provides a delightful scenery marked by the low pine-wooded hills. Afternoon sail for Aegina where you can either join the optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia, one of the finest and the best preserved of the Greek temples, or walk around the harbor browsing in the small gift shops or leisurely walk by the harbor of Aegina. Return to Athens in the early in the morning.
