Visit also Athens and Corinth in Greece, towns visited by the Apostle Paul.

Itinerary ;

 

Day 1 – Wednesday : Depart States

 

Day 2 – Thursday : Arrive Athens
Arrive at Athens airport where you will be met by your tour assistant and bus.  Transfer to your hotel.  Remainder of day free.  Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 3 – Friday : Embark on Cruise Ship – Sail for Istanbul

 

Embark cruise ship “Cristal”

 

08:30– We transfer to the port of Piraeus in Athens, with our tour assistant, where we will embark on our cruise ship the “Cristal”.
Ship sails at 11.00am for Istanbul.
Day free to explore and enjoy “Life on Board”

 

Day 4 – Saturday : Istanbul

 

09.00am– Arrive Istanbul, Turkey

 

Tour “Highlights of Istanbul”

 

Optional visit to the Byzantine Hippodrome, one of the largest chariot race arenas in the Byzantine Empire.  Then the Sultanahmet “Blue” Mosque, decorated with 21,000 blue Iznik Tiles.  After the famous church of Aghia Sophia to see the superb mosaics and marble decorations.
Return to ship for lunch.
Continue tour with a visit to the Topkapi Palace, official residence of the Ottoman Sultans.  See the famous treasury with the 7th largest diamond in the world!
6:00pm sail for Mykonos.

 

Day 5 – Sunday : Mykonos

 

03.00pm – Arrive Mykonos, Greece

 

Tour “Delos Apollo Sanctuary”

 

From Mykonos port optional boat trip to the neighboring island of Delos. (45 mins sail). For 500 years Delos was the religious and commercial hub of the Aegean.
Today the island is one large archaeological site with the only inhabitants being its keepers. After exploring Delos by foot with your guide, return to Mykonos town where you will have some free time to stroll through the maze of narrow streets with tiny chapels and whitewashed houses.  Or just relax on the waterfront and watch the world go by!
9.00pm sail for Israel.

 

 Day 6 – Monday : Day at Sea
Today we have a day free for relaxing and experiencing life on board ship.

 

 Day 7 – Tuesday : Jerusalem & Bethlehem

 

07.00am– Arrive Ashdod, Israel

 

Tour “Jerusalem & Bethlehem”

 

Optional tour to Jerusalem & Bethlehem.
Drive through the Judean mountains to Jerusalem.  Here we shall visit the Mount of Olives, the Church of all Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane.  Continue on foot to the old city, seeing the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher built on the sites of Jesus’s crucifixation and tomb.  Visit the Wailing Wall before having lunch on route to Bethlehem.  Here we shall visit the Church of the Nativity, birthplace of Jesus, before having some free time for shopping and our return to the ship.

 

Day 8 – Wednesday : Port Said , Egypt

 

06.00am – Arrive Port Said, Egypt

 

Tour “Cairo, Pyramids of Giza & Cruise on the Nile”

 

Optional tour to Cairo and Pyramids.
Drive south (3 hrs) to Africa’s largest city, CAIRO.  First stop at Liberty Square where we will visit the EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, which is the repository of the world’s largest and richest collection of Egyptian Antiquities including the collection of King Tutankhamen.  After lunch drive to the Giza Plateau where we will find the GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA.  Visit the pyramids from the outside and enjoy panoramic views from the western plateau, then continue down the valley to the mighty SPHINX.
Visit a Papyrus Institute where the art of paper making from reeds will be demonstrated to you.  You will also have time for souvenir shopping before returning to ship.
Tour returns to Alexandria, where the ship is waiting for us.
8.00pm sail for Crete, Greece.

 

Day 9 – Thursday : Crete, Greece

 

04.30pm – Arrive Aghios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece

 

Tour “A Taste of Crete”

 

Optional Island tour.
Drive through the beautiful area of Elounda to Kritsa.  Here you will have free time to explore, shop and experience the delightful mixture of sights, sounds and smells.
Next visit a local Olive Oil Farm.  This facility has endeavoured to embrace traditional Cretan everyday life in its entirety.  Producing olive oil, wine and raki the local spirit.  Taste some Raki with some traditional appetizers while enjoying some traditional Cretan music and dancers.
Return to Agios Nikolaos for some free time before re-embarking ship.
8.00pm sail for Crete, Greece.

 

Day 10 – Friday : Corinth, Cenchreae, Athens

 

08.00am – Arrive Piraeus, Athens, Greece

 

Disembark from ship

 

After breakfast we disembark from the ship and commence our drive along the picturesque CorinthianGulf via its historic canal to CORINTH (Acts 18:1-18) where the apostle Paul lived and worked and from here he sent his first and second letters to the Corinthians.  We will visit the site where Paul had a trial before the Roman Govener Gallio.  Continue to CENCHREAE, the ancient seaport from where the Apostle Paul set sail for Ephesus.  Return to Athens. Afternoon at leisure.
Dinner and overnight at hotel in Athens.

 

Day 11 – Saturday : Athens Tour
At 09.00am we shall visit the city of ATHENS (Acts 17:15-22) We climb up to the marble-capped ACROPOLIS and visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheion. Then, we go to nearby MARS HILL (Areopagus) to read Acts 17:22 where Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic and learning and spoke about the inscription: “to an unknown god”.  
Our tour continues with the highlights of modern Athens: we pass by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Academy, the University and the National Library.
Dinner and overnight in Athens.

 

Day 12 – Sunday : Athens Worship
Morning worship. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 13 – Monday : Depart Athens
Transfer from the Hotel to Athens airport for our return flight home
