Itinerary ;

 

Day 1 :  Arrive Athens
Arrive Athens and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight.

 

Day 2: Athens sightseeing

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a tour of Athens, combining many of the cities principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and see the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that were Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens. Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight. (B)

 

Day 3: Sounion

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure.

In the afternoon  enjoy a tour to the magnificent Sounion. Driving along the coastal rood passing by the wonderful beaches of GLYFADA, VOULIAGMENI, VARKIZA and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour Cape SOUNION, dominated by the spectacular Temple of POSEIDON overlooking the Aegean Sea. Return to the hotel. Overnight. (B)

 

Day 4: Corinth – Mycenae – Epidaurus   

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to MYCENAE; visit the remains of the ancient city, including the lionesses’ gate, the tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Then through ARGOS on to NAFPLION. After lunch visit EPIDAURUS and its theatre, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Return to Athens via the Epidaurus /Corinth road. Return to the hotel. Overnight. * Day 5: Athens –Delphi - Kalambaka

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Kalambaka. Drive to   DELPHI through LEVADIA and ARACHOVA. Arrive at Delphi and visit the archaeological site. Depart for KALAMBAKA. Drive through the towns of Central Greece (AMPHISSA, LAMIA and TRIKALA) crossing the Thessalian plain, the granary of GREECE, to reach KALAMBAKA. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)

 

Day 6: Meteora

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of the breathtaking METEORA and its monasteries built on the top of high rocks. Then start the drive back to ATHENS passing through THERMOPYLAE where LEONIDAS was killed (visit) and KAMMENA VOURLA. Return to the hotel. Overnight. (B)

 

Day 7: Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the departure flight. (B)
