21st April : Arrival
Arrival in Istanbul. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, info meeting with your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul.
22nd April: Istanbul Full Day Tour (Breakfast)
Full day tour of Istanbul. Visit St. Sophia Church, one of the greatest marvels of architecture constructed as a basilica in 536 by Emperor Justinian; Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous with its more than 20.000 blue Iznik tiles and unique with its 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet in the 17th century, one of the best examples of classical Turkish art; Hippodrome, the scene of Byzantine chariot races, athletic events, victory celebrations, and political activities of the old city where one can also see today the “Obelisk of Theodosius” from Egypt, “Serpentine Column” from Delphi, the “German Fountain of Wilhelm II” and the “Colossus”. Topkapi Palace – Harem section is excluded; built in 1468 by Mehmet the Conqueror, the imperial residence of Ottoman sultans housing the souvenirs of 600 years and exhibiting imperial treasury, Chinese porcelains, weapons, calligraphy section, etc. Overnight in Istanbul.
23rd April: Istanbul (Breakfast)
Transfer to our private Boat for BOSPORUS CRUISE for a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahce Palace, and further along the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. Afternoon free time in Grand Bazaar, which is one of the most attractive shopping centers in the world with nearly 4000 shops built in 16th century Afternoon drive to Canakkale. Check into our 3 star hotel for 3 nights stay including dinner.
24th April : Istanbul – Gallipoli- Anzac Cove ( Breakfast and Dinner)
Drive to the World War I Battlefield of Gallipoli we will visit the Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Hell Spit Cemetery, Lone Pine, The Nek, and Chunuk Bair War memorial. After the tour. Transfer back to hotel to relax. After dinner drive to Anzac Cove, tonight, soak up the vibrant atmosphere under the stars waiting for the break of dawn. Overnight at Dawn Service. Do not forget to get your breakfast box and your free-sleeping bags from your guide.
25th April ANZAC Day- Ayvalik (Breakfast box and Dinner)
Getting ready before sunrise for the ANZAC Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as we commemorate our fallen fore fathers on this special day. Dawn Service 10:30 Australian National service 13:00 New Zealand National service Following the New Zealand service you will be picked up from either Lone Pine or Chunuk Bair and drive to our hotel in Canakkale .Dinner and overnight in Canakkale.
26th April: Ayvalik – Pergamum – Kusadasi (Breakfast and Dinner)
Drive to Pergamum (45 minutes distance) – see Asklepion, Zeus’s altar, Red Basilica etc. Bergama is the site of the Hellenistic – and later Roman city of Pergamum, ruled for several centuries by a powerful local dynasty. Its foremost attraction is the Red Basilica, a huge edifice on the river not far from the acropolis, originally built as a temple to the Egyptian god Osiris and converted to a basilica by the early Christians, when it was one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor addressed by St John in the book of Revelation – though sadly it’s now a crumbling ruin with a mosque in one of its towers. After our guided Pergamum tour we continue towards Kusadasi. On the way, we will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving center, followed by an optional Turkish bath. After a good scrub down we will check-in your hotel in time for dinner.
28th April: Day 8 – Pamukkale & Hierapolis Tour (Breakfast and dinner)
At 8:30 we leave Kusadasi for Pamukkale (2.5 hours distance). We visit the “Cotton Castle” calcium terraces of Pamukkale and ancient Hierapolis, walking around this natural phenomenon gives you the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs that flow down the calcium terraces. Check-in your hotel in time for dinner and the rest of the evening is yours to explore the small village or relax around the swimming pool. Overnight in Pamukkale.
29th April: Day 9 – Pamukkale & Istanbul by flight – (Breakfast)
After breakfast, 06.30 a.m. transfer to Pamukkale airport for 08.45 a.m. flight to Istanbul. Arrival and transfer to your hotel for free afternoon on your own. Overnight in Istanbul.
30th April: Day 10 – Istanbul – ANZAC Tour End – (Breakfast)
After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and private transfer to Istanbul airport.
